Here are some games, ideas and even some games you can print out, all of which can really help you throw a successful Baby
Shower.
If you know of any great Baby Shower Games, or you have some interesting ideas, and you'd like to share them... By all
means, e-mail me with them, and I'll post them here, as soon as I can.
Name Poem of Advice
If baby's name is already picked out pass out a sheet of paper to all your guests. Have them write
baby's name vertically down the paper. Next to each letter in the name have them write a little tidbit of advice starting
with that particular letter in baby's name. Like if the name is "Stephen" S - Say please and thank you. T - talk softly when
grandpa is sleeping. And go on down the list. You can save everyone's papers and add them to a keepsake box of baby's shower.
Bubble Gum Game
You get paper plates and put them all around on the table and then you buy bubble gum and unwrap them
and put 1 in the middle of the paper plate and then cover it all in whip cream and then tell the people to come in there and
the first one who finds the bubble gum and makes a bubble wins. No using your hands. just your mouth's.
Get the Details
Have the guest of honor - mom-to-be stand in the center of the room for all the guests to look over,
maybe she can do a little walk on the "cat walk" or a couple of spins. She leaves. Then someone can read off a list of questions
for all to answer on their own sheet of paper. What color was she wearing? Color of her eyes? buttons on her blouse? buckles,
tied or slip on shoes? Jewelry? Hair style? When is her due date? When is her birthday? Color of make-up or lipstick? See
who can answer the most right! They win!
Fold 'em Fast Game
We had my baby shower after my twins were born.So what we did is i took a clothes basket full of their
clean clothes and passed the basket around, each guest had 3 minutes to fold as many of the clothes as they could. Then we
wrote down how many they folded. The one who folded the most won a prize.
Pass the Potato Game
Have mom-to-be sit in a chair blind folded or with eyes closed. Now all guests form a circle around
her. Put a little radio/boom box or music box – anything that makes noise that she can turn off and on (even a baby
toy). Have her turn it on and start passing the potato! When she turns it off the one who has the potato has to exit the circle
– she’s out. Continue this until there are two standing, now next to mom instead of a circle. The one left standing
with no potato WINS!!!
Number 2 in the diaper eewww!
For this game to be played at baby's shower you will need to purchase 8-10 different kinds of candy
bars. You will also need the same amount of diapers. Heat each candy bar separately in the microwave until melted and smear
all the contents in each diaper. Label diapers with A,B,C or 1,2,3 and copy this to a list which will include what kind of
candy bar was placed in diaper A or diaper 1, and so on. Pass around all the diapers to each guest and provide them with paper
& pen. Have them inspect each diaper and write each labeled diaper down with their best guess next to it. No taste testing
allowed and the one who guesses the most right WINS! Give them a bouquet of candy bars wrapped in ribbon!
Leg Crossing Not Allowed Game
Instead of pinning a diaper pin or clothes pin to all your guests make some cute necklaces! Everyone
wears one and if anyone sees a fellow attendee crossing their legs they get to steal their necklace! So be aware to stare
and aware of your lounging legs! Here's how to make some necklaces that are really easy and don't cost much! Yarn or ribbon
will work well and buy some lifesavers, jelly beans and glue. Take two lifesavers and glue one onto the top of another but
in a crisscross manner - one edge to the others center. The one lifesaver that you used as the edge into the center of the
other acts as the handle. On the opposite center of the other you will glue a jelly bean! It looks like a pacifier! Now thread
your yarn or ribbon in through the handle! Make enough for all guests to wear! This is really fun!
Stressed Out Momma Game
Hang a clothes line up, somewhere very stable or have a couple of guests holding at each end. Give
the player of this game a laundry basket filled with baby clothes (this can be placed on the floor next to them), a baby doll
placed on the hip, and hand them a cordless phone to wedge between their chin and shoulder. They are timed for one minute,
during which they will attempt to hang as many baby clothes as possible on the line. Whoever can hang the most WINS.
Baby Naming Game
Take the first names of any two family members, they may be grandparents from one side of the family
or pick one on each side, parents names, a favorite aunt and uncle or a couple of cousins - have all players of this game
list these two names. Now ask them to take the letters out of these names and arrange them into a name for the baby! Whoever
creates the name that mom-to-be likes best will WIN!
Baby's Birthday Guessing Game
Have guests write their names on a list or calendar specifying the date and time they think baby will
be born. Have them bet a sum of money whether it's 3 or 5 dollars a piece. Whoever gets the closest gets the cash pot!
Baby Photo Matching Game
When sending out invitations to a shower ask that the guest bring a photo of themselves when they were
a baby. Then arrange the pictures with numbers, along with a list of the guests. At the party ask all the guests to write
down the name and matching number, whoever has the most correct matches WINS.
Paper Clips and Rice Game
In a container of some sort, possibly a pretty bowl, pour in a good amount of rice and several small
paper clips. Blindfold a player and have them pick out as many paper clips as they possibly can. Keep track of how many each
player gets, and of course the WINNER will have the most.
The Melting Game
Shop for any small plastic items, such as tiny toys or you can use plastic paper clips. Take an ice
tray and place your tiny items in each slot. Fill tray no more than half way with water. Let freeze. Then fill the rest of
the way up and freeze again, this will make it to where your tiny items don't float to the top of your cube, you want them
frozen in the center. Then at the shower pass around beverages to each guest with one of your special ice cubes inside their
glass. The first one to have their little toy item melted out WINS. You can use little plastic babies, and tell guests whichever
baby is born first WINS. Be creative.
Not Weened Yet!
Purchase one of those 3-packs of plastic bottles. Make some koolaid and fill each bottle with 3 ounces.
Sucking really takes some work! It's best if you take a fork and poke the hole or holes in the nipple larger than what it
is, then it comes out quicker. Get 3 people to race! So who finishes first to WIN!
Baby Food Guessing Game
Purchase anywhere from 5 to 8 jars of baby food. Remove labels and set aside out of view. Number each
jar and on a tray pass them around to all who have a pencil and paper. They can look, smell, and taste to their desire then
predict what the jar contains writing it on their list. See who guesses the most right and WINS! You can make this game trickier
by having about 8 jars and by two's pick the same colors like oranges - sweet potatoes and carrots. Greens - peas and green
beans or spinach. Yellows - banana's and custard. Then not allowing any tasting or smelling - see how many can guess then!
Baby Sculptures Game
Buy some playdough and pass out a ball of it to everyone. Have mom step out for a breath of fresh air
then have guests, to the best of their ability, mold the cutest little baby they can. Display them on a tray or table, and
have mom come in to pick her favorite! Announce the WINNER and give the playdough to those who have kids.
Baby Item Guessing Game
Pass around a basket of baby items. Have each guest peek at these for a moment. Then everyone will
need to make a list of what they just viewed, trying to remember all items and listing them on paper. The guest with the most
WINS! What's also fun is if you just pretend like you'll be playing this game and after the basket gets passed around have
mom-to-be leave the room with it and stay gone. Now instead of asking guests to write down what they remember seeing in the
basket they will write down any details they remember about mom-to-be. What she was wearing, hairstyle, jewelry, make-up,
shoes, etc. See how many right guesses you have from each guest to determine the WINNER!

one at a time, and drop it into the mayo jar. Whoever can make the most in WINS!

Write down how many candies are in bottle #1, #2 and #3 and hide it away. Then pass around the bottles and have everyone guess
how many are in each. Give the bottles as the prize to who guesses the closest, or give the bottles to mom-to-be and give
out prizes.
Baby Face Plate Game
When it's time for cake at the baby shower use paper plates to serve the cake on. Draw a baby face
on the bottom of one of the plates, two plates if its a shower for twins. Then ask all guests to look under their plates for
a picture of a baby. Whoever has it WINS.

baby food, a package of diaper pins, one teething ring, a bib, one little pair of sockies, one pacifier, a small bottle of
baby powder, and maybe a plastic brush & comb set. Save the receipt. Then have guests guess individually what the prices
are and the one who guesses the most right or closest to right WINS or have everyone guess the total of all items. Mom will
need all these goodies for baby so pass them over to her, you have the receipt - she can reimburse you later,, haha just kidding.
You can use all these items for Game 11 - Baby item guessing game!

guests will be sitting in. Announce that they all need to look under their chair for a special surprise. The diaper or diapers

This popular game can be played with yarn, toilet paper, ribbon or a streamer roll. Just have each

catch them you get their pin! The person with the most diaper pins nearing the end of the party WINS.
Diapering Duo Game
Separate guests into groups of three asking that two of them diaper the third member of their team.
Hand them one roll of toilet paper, and that's it, they get nothing else to create a diaper masterpiece. Mom-to-be picks the
best diaper and each player of the team gets a prize!
Clothes Pin Picking Game
Take a wire coat hanger and clip as many clothes pins as you can to it, or take a piece of twine or
yarn and clip as many to that. Then have your player, taking only one hand, grab one clothes pin at a time off and hold it
with that hand and continue the process. See how many clothes pins the player can grasp and hold with that one hand. Once
they drop one they stop and count how many they have. The player with the most recorded WINS.

or teether toy. If its possible have them clip it to their shirts or wear it around their necks with yarn. After everyone
is seated have them remove their item and pass a basket around to accumulate all items. Now hand out a list of all guests
attending and have everyone write down what item they remember each guest wearing. This is a great game for everyone to get
to know each other. Whoever guesses the most right WINS.

Ideas...
Dixie Cup Booties
one dixie cup, or styrofoam cup - for each bootie you want to make decorative cutting scissors (optional) ribbon
or lace hole puncher clear fingernail polish acrylic sparkle glaze or varnish
Cut an inch or so off the top
of the cup using decorative scissors or with a regular pair of scissors cut with a rolling motion. Starting at the top of
the cup cut a slit down towards the bottom stopping about 1" from the bottom of the cup. Make another slit the same way about
1 1/2" from the first. The little section between the two slits is the tongue of the bootie. Push the tongue back towards
the center and bring the flaps over the tongue. Punch holes down both sides going through both layers. Place some clear nail
polish inside the holes and let dry. (This helps keep them from ripping apart when the ribbon is tied.) Paint your booties
with sparkle glaze and let dry. Then run ribbon through the holes just as you would a shoe and tie. Now you can fill your
shoes with mints, candy, or nuts. So cute!

A Great way to send Baby Shower Invitations
For guests who live far send their invitations by mail. BUT for those who you can personally invite
buy clear baby bottles, confetti, pastel candies, etc. and roll the invitations up inserting them into the bottle along with
all the other decorating goodies. It's a cute way to be invited! and then ask the guests to bring the bottle back to the mommy-to-be
the day of the shower!
A Twist on Words
Have someone write down the mothers verbal reactions as she opens her gifts. Then pick out the best
ones. Tell the guests, "These are some of things that were said the night the baby was conceived." Use your sense of humor
here! Some examples could be: "Oh, look how small it is!" or "Look how adorable it is!" or "How do you use this?"
Baby Cake Plate
On disposable cake plates 1 or 2 depending on the size of your party and write the word "Baby" on the
bottom, or if mom-to-be knows the sex of her unborn and already has decided his/her name write the name on the bottom of the
plate/s - Later ask all guests after enjoying theirr cake to look at the bottom of their plate and whoever has the name wins
a prize!
Artful Fun
Buy some onesies or bibs and a bunch of puff paint. Give each guest a onesie or bib or you can put
everyone in groups of two so you don't have to buy so you can cut costs on supplies and have them create their own personalized
artwork on the onesie or bib. Then later mom-to-be gets to be the judge of the cutest! And they win!
Time Capsule
Decorate a box and label it "To Baby". Have all the guests bring a current time memento, newspaper
clipping/article, a video of recorded funny commercials, shows, or news broadcasts, a magazine, popular new book, CD or other
item. Put all these items in the box and present it to baby when he or she reaches 18.
Napkin Rings
Baby pacifiers work well as to decorate your table setting - Use them as Napkin Rings!
Needle Thread & Pencil Prediction Game
Based on an old wives tale, this test is used to make uncanny predictions. You don't even need to be
pregnant to play. It predicts how many children you will have total, and their genders. With women who have had children already
it reveals those children as well, along with any future children. Take a sharpened pencil that has a good eraser, the pencil
can be used, and thread a needle. then stab the needle straight down into the center of the eraser and let it dangle from
the thread. Now hold it about 1 or 2 inches above the right wrist of the person to be read. Have their wrist inside up, the
back of their hand against the table in a rested state, not moving. Now the pencil may quiver a bit, that's normal - its determining.
It will start with the first born. It will start to move on its own, If it makes a circle Its a girl. If it moves back and
forth, left to right, from outside of wrist to inside then its a boy. Tiny little circles don't count - its just doing its
quivering thing - its at a standpoint then releases to reveal the next born. If it stays pretty still or quivers slightly
for longer than what the standpoint takes then its done predicting. For reasons unknown it does not predict any miscarriages
or abortions. This is fun for everyone at a baby shower.
T-shirt keepsake
Get an Extra large T-shirt and some fabric writing gel, paint, or markers and have everyone sign and
decorate the shirt for mom-to-be. You could even use it as a game and have everyone doodle their best drawing of a baby while
mom's not looking, then have her pick the best by circling it. After that she's got a night-shirt/pajama till baby is born.
You could also get a hospital gown to this with, either way she will have a lasting memory of all who attended her baby shower.
Babies are expensive!
Give mom-to-be a cash gift in a ceramic piggy bank, or find a piggy bank that everyone can write on
with a marker. Have them make a contribution and sign the piggy bank, it's much more fun than a plain old card. What's also
great is getting a Nubbin and then having everyone at the baby shower signing the plaque! Take the nubbin off it's hanger
by sliding it out of the baby clothespins then stuff it with the money gifts, slipping it down inside both sleeves of the
Nubbin (ankles of the socks). Then slip it back onto the clothespins and it's a money stuffed Nubbin!!! Mom will love it and
know where it came from as she reads all the names on the plaque!
Handprint and Footprint advice
Draw out some baby handprints and footprints then cut them out. At the shower ask each guest to write
advice, and helpful hints on them. Then put them into a scrap book for mom-to-be to refer back to as she needs. Or pass around
a journal and asking guests to do the same, filling it with loving words and tidbits of information that mom-to-be will find
very useful. When sending out the invitations you can inform the guests ahead of time that this will be requested at the shower
so that they can think of what they might want to write down.
Pre-Addressed Envelopes
As guests arrive hand them an envelope and ask them to write their address on it, then put them all
in a basket. Later have mom-to-be close her eyes and draw one envelope - making that person a winner of a prize! Thank you
cards will go in all the envelopes making it easy to send out from mom-to-be, and while she was opening all those gifts have
someone at the shower jot a list of who got what so everything is organized.
